What are PDO threads?

In our clinic we use two types of threads:

PDO mono threads. Smooth sutures that help rejuvenate the skin by increasing production of collagen and elastin. These are made from a special substance called PDO (polydioxanone) which has been used in the medical field for many years and is highly compatible with the body making negative reactions or allergy unlikely. Polydioxanone helps to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production processes, giving the skin back its strength and elasticity.

PDO cog threads. These threads have barbs that latch underneath your skin like small fishhooks, to provide support and lift parts of your face.PDO Cog Threads are the only Thread Lift that provides an immediate physical lifting effect, as well as a biological lift by stimulating the natural production of new collagen. Like mono threads, these are made from PDO (polydioxanone) which helps to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production processes, giving the skin back its strength and elasticity. This unique combination of mechanical lifting and cellular regeneration is what makes the PDO Thread Lift so effective, giving people immediately noticeable results and long-lasting regeneration.

Threads can treat most parts of your face that are experiencing signs of aging such as cheeks, jaw, neck and eyes. The Threads biodegrade over time a period of 12-18 months, when a new treatment may be needed.
