Jawline Slimming / Bruxism

You may have never heard of the condition ‘Bruxism’, however it’s a really common condition that affects both men and women of all ages. Often brought on by stress, many clench and grind teeth either during waking hours or as they sleep. The effect can be debilitating, causing neck pain, headaches and migraines in extreme cases. With treatment, the improvement and relief you can experience in your day to day is immeasurable.

From an aesthetic perspective, excessive grinding over a long period of time can cause the jaw to widen, giving the face a more masculine appearanceand for women in particular, this can feel like a loss of femininity. The face can also appear more bulky than it should be oronce was.

What you need to know

At Colicci Aesthetics we provide expert Botulinum Toxin injections (Botox) into the masseter muscle which temporarily relaxes the muscles creating a softer and more feminine jawline.Injecting toxin into this muscle will relax it, offering relief from teeth grinding and headaches caused due to the clenched jaw.

Each individual is different so before receiving any Botulinum Toxin treatment, you will be thoroughly assessed to understand your suitability for the treatment. The procedure takes about 15 minutes and results can last up to six months after the procedure.

Your Consultation

Prior to any treatment, you will first attend a consultation with us at Colicci Aesthetics where you can discuss exactly what it is you are looking for to enable us to design a treatment plan that meets your needs. During your consultation, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions regarding your treatment, recovery, or aftercare. We will also require you to provide a thorough medical history to ensure you are a safe candidate for treatment.

What to expect after treatment

This is a mini-invasive procedure and therefore people can carry on with their life straight after the treatment. However, some may experience swellings, bruising and discomfort after the treatment which usually only last a couple of days.

Flying straight after treatment is not recommended so we encourage people to plan their appointments accordingly.
